“Should We Call Him Back?”- Son Heung-Min Remembers Harry Kane After Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-1 Win Over Newcastle United

Tottenham made their comeback into the W column after a disappointing defeat against West Ham last time out. They defeated Newcastle United 4-1. This victory also brought an end to the 5-game winless run for the Spurs. This game also saw Son Heung-Min score a penalty for the first time this season. He also joked after the match that the club could call back Harry Kane for penalty duties.

The Spurs faithful will certainly be happy with the win as they continue to challenge for the top four this season. Ange Postecoglou will also be happy with the other forwards taking responsibility after the departure of Harry Kane.

The smiles of the Tottenham fans returned as their team demolished Newcastle United. This came after a disappointing run of results for the London club. To aid their pursuit in clinching a victory, Spurs received their first penalty of the season. The club captain, Son Heung-Min, easily scored the penalty. But this penalty also saw the duties shift from Harry Kane to him. After the game, the South Korean jokingly said, “Shall we call Harry [Kane] back?. Speaking of the pressure, he said,” I practiced all the time, even when Harry was there. I learned from Harry. I hope so [more goals from penalties]. I hope we get more penalties.”

The London club put up a good showing against the Magpies and clinched a deserving victory. They had 23 shots in the game and 12 on target. But, Newcastle United only had 9 shots and 3 on target. They also got the reward for the electrifying start. Both Destiny Udogie and Richarlison scored in the first half. The team continued this into the second half as Richarlison scored his second and Son Heung Min scored the penalty. For Newcastle United, Joelinton scored the consolation.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou will hope for the same performances in the upcoming matches. They also have the advantage over other teams as they are not playing in Europe this season. Nevertheless, after the departure of their talismanic striker, Son has definitely stepped up to the task as he leads the club forward in pursuit of a title push. His recent performance against an elite right back such as Kieran Tripper proved his mettle once again as he aims to replicate his spectacular displays in their upcoming games

In their recent matches, Ange Postecoglou had decided to play the South Korean as a striker. However, that experiment hit a dead-end as they lost their game against West Ham. Hence, the Australian decided to shift his captain back to his favored position. The 31-year-old also did not disappoint on the left wing.

Heung Min-Son will need more of this in their next game away against Nottingham Forest. Their opposition currently lies in the relegation zone and are likely going to play a defensive style of football. Hence, Spurs will look at the likes of Son, Richarlison, and other forwards to breach their defenses.
