It has only been 22 matches since Argentinian starlet and teammate of Lionel Messi, Lisandro Martinez joined Manchester United. But, in that span, the club has proved to be a behemoth in the Premier League. The versatility the young star brings to the defense of Old Trafford is amazing. He has been one of the most aggressive players, giving a new look to the Manchester United defense.

This season started a little bit low for the club, but ever since Rinaldo left the club, they are pretty much winning all but a few matches. Sitting at 3rd on the table, the team is proving that their young core doesn’t need Cristiano Ronaldo to win matches.

Going through a crushing bad phase, Ronaldo appeared in the Piers Morgan interview. It was just before he would embark on his quest for the FIFA World Cup trophy. The interview had shaken the soccer community, and Manchester United’s board decided to terminate his contract. He would sign a huge deal with the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

Lisandro Martinez wants to ‘kill’

Young Argentinian starlet Lisandro Martinez is arguably the most aggressive defender today in the Premier League. His aggression has made him a unique asset.

Even though sometimes the aggression would eventually harm the team, he has made it clear that he will not be slowing down. Aggression is his signature style, and he is making big moves for the red devils.

Talking about the difficulty he faces controlling his aggression with the Times he said, “Yes. It is hard, really hard. Sometimes I want to kill but you have to control [yourself] as well. Argentinian players are always passionate. It’s in our culture, in our blood. Football for us is everything, so that is why we always give everything. I remember when I was playing when I was really young, like four or five years old, I would cry if we lost.

While he is making a name his name now, a couple of months ago he played a small but significant role in Argentina lifting the world cup. By all accounts, Lisandro Martinez is a World Champion and ever since the Qatar final, he has played like a champion.

Before Argentina embarked on a historic World Cup run Lisandro Martinez talked about his idol. Almost every fan considered the 2022 WC to be the last one for the Argentinian megastar. Reacting to which Martinez said that they won’t let it happen. He said they will go to war for Lionel Messi.

He was coming off the bench during the World Cup and witnessed most of the action by Lionel Messi sitting out. However, his current form and impact on the game suggest that the starlet will be a big part of the defense of the Argentinian team. How would it actually work out? Only time could tell.
