Roberto Firmino‘s transfer was looked at as a significant coup for the SPL. The move showcased the rising popularity of the league by signing a proven world-class star at the peak of his powers. Much was expected of Bobby who dazzled the Premier League during his stay at Liverpool. Yet, his form for Al Ahli has been below par which has sparked rumours of a transfer away. However, Roberto Firmino seems to be ‘happy‘ at the club. Does the Brazilian still have the club’s support?

With 3 goals in 19 matches, the former Liverpool man hasn’t performed to his high standards in Saudi. Considering his role is of a striker, these figures would worry any side and there could be substance behind the rumours.

The Brazilian recently addressed the rumors regarding his potential transfer. He said, “I’m still fighting and I need more time.” It seems the star himself recognizes that his performances are under scrutiny and below par. Yet, he doesn’t seem to be giving up on the project. Roberto Firmino added, “I will remain an Al Ahli player and I’m happy to be here.” Will Al Ahli be sharing the same sentiments?

Roberto Firmino couldn’t have started his life in Saudi any better. The false 9 bagged a hat trick in his debut game. However, things haven’t been clicking since then. Al Ahli sits third on the table, 13 points behind the league leaders. If they have any title aspirations, they will have to immediately address the situation with their striker.

As per reports, Brazilian and former Manchester United player Andreas Pereira is of interest to the SPL side.  Just like Aleksander Mitrovic, a big transfer fee could tempt Fulham. On paper, Pereira doesn’t seem to be a Roberto Firmino replacement. However, they bring a similar value to the pitch.

This season, the attacking midfielder has 6 goal contributions (1 goal, 5 assists) in 19 games in the English Premier League. Firmino has the same-goal contributions (3 goals, 3 assists) while being 5 years older. Also, Firmino has a whopping annual salary of more than $21 million. Hence, the former Liverpool man’s position does not seem favorable.
