Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney had a massive admission for the fans earlier tonight. The team has been enjoying their time in the United States after securing the promotion to League One. Wrexham has become a cult phenomenon over the past couple of years, with multiple celebrities and dignitaries visiting the club. While many would consider the King of England perhaps the prominent individual to visit the club, Rob McElhenney believes the club might have to bring considerable security for their next guest!

In his appearance on Good Morning America, McElhenney talked about plans to bring Taylor Swift to the Racecourse. The Wrexham co-owner stated, There is always a plan to get Taylor involved in something. But Jason and Travis have assured me that they will be attending a game. Um, and we will try and get Taylor there. Now, we have had the King come, and the security in the town of Wrexham was high, but I think we will have to double it [for Taylor Swift].”

While Rob might have put Taylor over the King of England light-heartedly, the English media could make a mountain out of the mole, considering James McClean and Paul Mullins’ latest jab at the royal family.

Wrexham stars take a dig at the King in a now-deleted post

While the Red Dragons have been enjoying promotion, their trip to Las Vegas was all over the English media for all the wrong reasons! While enjoying their time in a nightclub, Star striker Paul Mullin and James McClean shared an image of the two enjoying their drinks with the caption, And we hate the f***ing King!”

The club quickly went into damage control as McClean deleted the post swiftly, minutes after posting it. However, the Irishman wasn’t done as he posted the image once again, albeit with a different caption. McClean, this time, stated, We serve no King or Kaiser but Ireland! Sue me.”

It isn’t the first time James McClean has spoken out against the English royals, with the player turning his back on the English national anthem on international duty. The player has deleted all posts, and the club will undoubtedly monitor his social media actions to avoid any drama in the future. Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have built close ties with the English royal family after Prince Harry visited the Racecourse earlier this year to praise the team on their remarkable rise.
