Soccer, tennis, and golf together? At least, that seems to be the case with Alex Morgan, Serena Williams, and Tiger Woods. They are getting together to support L.A. Golf Club by TGL. Serena, Venus Williams, and Alexis Ohanian are already a part of the initiative, but Alex Morgan’s entry has taken people by surprise. However, she has shown interest in golf in the past, which likely drove Woods’ team to approach the soccer striker.

“Golf has become a family hobby,” she told ‘Fast Company’. So, it seems the decision came naturally to her. In fact, she even reached out to golfer Michelle Wie West, who also came on board almost immediately.

The ongoing chatter on social media is about the new golf league in the making. Golf veterans Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy headlined the development of this league. One of the teams that emerged as a frontrunner is the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC). Alexis Ohanian took the lead as the primary investor. He was joined by his wife Serena Williams and her sister Venus Williams, further solidifying the team’s credibility.

The excitement around LAGC has now reached new heights as USWNT star Alex Morgan is also joining in on the project. Making the announcement on her official X account, she expressed her enthusiasm for this new chapter in her career. “It’s official, I’m married to the game,” she proudly declared.

Golf has proven to be a passion of many athletes from different backgrounds. It remains to be seen if any other soccer-related individuals join Tiger Woods’ newest venture too. The USWNT star announced her new business partnership just days after her soccer partner, Megan Rapinoe, decided to hang her boots.

Is Alex Morgan good at golf?

It seems most athletes do not just stick to their respective areas of expertise. NBA legend, Michael Jordan, is a prime example of this. He is a huge fan of golf and would indulge in it during his off-season. Similarly, Alex Morgan seems to love golf.

Back in 2022, the soccer player posted a carousel of images during her off-season. She also posted a video of her playing golf. She seemed to have a good posture and a steady head. However, this wasn’t the only time she showed off her talent in the sport.

In 2014, her teammate, Sydney Leroux, tried her luck at a local driving range and filmed her attempt at a swing. Unfortunately, it didn’t go well. But later, Morgan posted a video on Instagram where she successfully hit the golf ball off a driving range mat. She did a happy dance, too.
