However, his compatriot has still made it a point to step in and defend the Cityzens striker over the goal drought accusations from the soccer universe.

Norway teammate defends Erling Haaland over goalless criticism

Erling Haaland scored a brace as Norway defeated Cyprus 4-0 in the UEFA Euro qualifiers. Social media users have trolled the Manchester City striker for the lack of goals this season. However, his Norway teammate Jørgen Strand Larsen has pointed out that the criticism is not worth even a discussion. He has also pointed out that Erling Haaland not scoring in games is not the biggest concern for Haaland himself and his teammates.

Jørgen Strand Larsen, speaking further on the Norway star striker, said, “Erling scored 10,000 goals last season. He is the best striker in the world in my eyes. I am incredibly proud to be on the same team as him. I don’t want to hear anything more about that target drought”.

“I don’t think he cares. It’s not a goal drought when you’re talking about three games. When we get up to 10-12 games, there is a goal drought. Sometimes it fits, sometimes it doesn’t. He plays on such a good team that it will come loose. I’m not afraid of that”. as compiled by Dagbladet.

One has to also realize that Erling Haaland currently remains the top scorer in the Premier League this season. But, many soccer fans feel that the Norway striker should have more goals to his name because of the service he gets. However, it is not as easy to score because Manchester City has also struggled in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne.

Manchester City struggle to provide service for Haaland

Manchester City have struggled to create chances this season in certain matches. They have particularly struggled in providing goal-scoring chances to their star striker, Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has to sometimes help in constructing the attack. This is not ideal as it forces the striker to spend more time out of the box. Most importantly, Erling Haaland is likely missing the midfield service from Kevin De Bruyne.
