David de Gea has to be one of the biggest free agents right now since leaving Manchester United in April. Speculations regarding his next move have linked him with several clubs, including Newcastle United, Barcelona, and even a potential return to Old Trafford. However, the most recent development revolves around the rumors of a move to Saudi Arabia, which has now been confirmed by the Saudi Pro League’s director of Football.

David de Gea ended his run with Manchester United as a club legend after having made an impressive 545 appearances for the club. And despite only being 33 years old, the goalkeeper has been without a club for 159 days. However, his ability has not gone unnoticed by the Saudis.

David de Gea has been ‘presented’ to Saudi Arabia

Sky Sports News recently provided an update on David de Gea’s free-agent status. The information they received from Michael Emenalo, the director, shed light on the interest from Saudi Arabian teams. Emenalo confirmed that “He’s (David de Gea) somebody that has been presented to us.” He further stated,“If one of our clubs wants him, then we have the finances to be able to make that happen.”It is evident that the Saudi Pro League is open to the idea of signing the Spanish goalkeeper, and if a club expresses interest, they have the means to complete the deal.

However, the details of when a potential move may occur and how long the Madrid-born will remain a free agent are still uncertain. The focus now turns to the upcoming January transfer window. While Barcelona has already expressed no intention of seeking a replacement for their goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Newcastle United remains an option for David de Gea, along with the Middle East.
