Soccer is the most popular sport in almost every country. From South America to Europe, Asia to Africa, every continent has teams that had performed internationally and gained massive support. The biggest example of this is Japan in FIFA 2022. No one expected any significant performance from the team, but they shocked everyone by topping the group table after defeating Germany and Spain.

The team’s fan following had raised significantly, even though they got knocked out by Croatia. Fans get alive whenever there is a World Cup but other than that, USA hardly cares about soccer. USWNT legend Heather Mitts shared a furious post writing about this ordeal.

Last week was action-packed. We got so many close games and three out of the six last matches of the FIFA WC ended in a penalty shootout. Argentina, Croatia, and Morocco all demonstrated the skills required to win these tense games.

Heather Mitts slammed fans

Mitts talked about how soccer is perceived as a boring sport in the US. She wrote, “I hear so many people say but the US is no longer in and don’t watch. They missed some unbelievable games. Then there are the folks who say but I hate when they end in PKs. If people only understood the practice required to become one of those PK takers. The precision necessary when nerves kick in. The mind games keepers play. It’s an art. A dance. All of it. Love this game”.
