If the USMNT beats Jamaica tomorrow in the SF and makes it to the CONCACAF Nations League final, that will only be its 3rd game of 2024. Thereafter, they won’t see too much action for a couple of months. But once it is June, the US squad is looking at a very busy calendar. The US-co-hosted Copa America will keep the US team occupied in June. Should they make a deep run, they would play in July as well. While most of their senior players could rest, the USMNT’s U23 team flies to France in July to feature in the coveted 2024 Olympics after a 16-year-long hiatus. The US squad’s schedule for the same is out now.

USMNT’s Group A matches and venues

The soccer tournament at the 2024 Olympics will be held from July 24 to August 10. It opens with a headline clash between the hosts- France and the USMNT at the Stade de Marseille. The US side then plays New Zealand on July 27 in the same venue. Thereafter, they will travel to Saint-Etienne to face the winner of the Asia-Africa playoff in Stade de Geoffroy-Guichard on July 30. The Asia-Africa playoff will feature Guinea, the 4th-place team from the African against the Asian qualification.

It is yet to be learned which senior USMNT players have made the cut to feature in the Olympics alongside the U23 squad. The 2024 Olympics marks the USMNT’s first appearance in the tournament since Beijing 2008. US’ best performance in the Olympics was when they won the Silver medal in 1904.
