Wrexham AFC‘s return to EFL League Two hasn’t been a smooth ride so far. After a dream run last season in the National League, Wrexham experienced a slow start to the current season, taking them three matches to secure their first win. However, the one-star player is confident that they are just getting started.

In a thrilling match against Walsall on Tuesday, the Ryan Reynolds side emerged victorious with a 4-2 win. Among the players who found the back of the net was English midfielder Eliot Lee, who signed with Wrexham last summer. Despite their initial setbacks, Lee believes this win is a testament to Wrexham’s potential for improvement.

The team’s first match ended in a loss against MK Dons, and their second match resulted in a 1-1 draw against AFC Wimbledon. It was clear that they couldn’t expect every game to be a breeze, as Lee himself acknowledged in his interview with The Leader. “We can’t expect every game here to be like last season,” Lee stated.

However, he expressed his optimism for the team’s future, asserting that they are steadily improving in various aspects of their game. Lee pointed out, “We are steadily getting better, we are getting fitter, we are getting stronger and we are getting sharper, and we are going to keep building on that”.

Lee’s confidence in the team’s potential was evident in his words, “We are nowhere near our ceiling. We are building as a team”. Acknowledging the win against Walsall the 28-year-old further added, “That is a great foundation for us to keep improving game-by-game for a real successful season”.

This declaration serves as a source of encouragement for the team’s fans, who have been eagerly awaiting Wrexham’s success in the EFL League Two. Eliot Lee’s confidence in the team has been greatly boosted by his goal in the winning match. However, he wasn’t the only one to score a remarkable goal against Walsall. Will Boyle, Wrexham’s new signing, also scored on his debut that same night.
