Shakira has recently been in the limelight for her prestigious Billboard accolade. Weeks ago, Billboard announced that they would be honoring the singer as the ‘Latin Woman of the Year’. Like always, she received love and support from her fans across the globe. Whilst on stage, she gave quite an empowering speech, too.
While she has always had most of the fanbase on her side, a few people aren’t in favor of her actions either.
Recently, a Mexican television host slated the Colombian singer for her empowering acceptance speech. He also referenced an old line from her diss track and had a few strong words for the Waka–Waka singer.

Who slated Shakira? and why?
Currently, the person in the limelight is Daniel Bisogno. The Mexican television host has had absolutely no mercy on Shakira. The Waka–Waka singer has become a fan favorite because of her diss tracks against Gerard Pique. While she has managed to rake in millions from her recent songs, there are a few people who have publicly disliked her recent tracks.

In relation to her diss track, Bisogno was referring to a particular line. The line was, “The press at my door, and a debt with the Treasury”, lyrics as per Genius. In response to the same, he exclaimed, “Don’t you think it’s too much, already? Sorry is already burning, absolutely… He has already been reminded enough, and everyone takes what they should, it is already an excess, forgive me”, as per TV Notas and translated by Google Translate.

He then targeted the Colombian singer’s acceptance speech during the Billboard ceremony. In response to her lines on woman empowerment, he had a strong one-liner to throw at the singer. He said, “We’ve heard that a thousand times already, already. She said enough with the song and with what she has charged to continue still with this speech”.
Let’s have a look at what Shakira said during her acceptance speech.
The women empowerment part of Shakira’s acceptance speech
Just days ago, Shakira was on stage to accept the first-ever ‘Latin Women of the Year’ award. Surprisingly, her long-time friend Maluma presented her with the prestigious accolade. Before inviting her to the stage, the fellow-Colombian artist emotionally lauded the Hips Don’t Lie singer for her success in recent times.

After that, she came on stage to accept her award. From her acceptance speech, here are some of the lines on woman empowerment. “There comes a time in every woman’s life when she no longer depends on someone to love or accept herself as she is”, as per Marca and translated by Google Translate.
She then admitted that she realized women are much stronger than they always think, this year itself. Seemingly, these are the lines that Bisogno had an issue with.
