“Where Dreams are Made of” – David Beckham Takes Pride in Inter Miami’s Victory in Lionel Messi’s MLS Debut, Earning Jimmy Butler’s Approval

Inter Miami returned to MLS action after a month-long hiatus and David Beckham felt really proud to see his team return to action. The Leagues Cup winners locked horns against the New York Red Bulls at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday, marking the long-anticipated debut for Lionel Messi in MLS.

The Herons sealed a 2-0 win on their return, with Messi scoring a late goal to secure the victory. Inter Miami owner, David Beckham also expressed his delight over the victory, which got support from famous Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler.

Lionel Messi continued his hot streak for Inter Miami CF with scoring a total of 11 goals for the club. With his brilliance, he lifted up the Miami side and brought an end to their 11-match winless streak. David Beckham was highly impressed after the victory and shared his delight with his fans.

He took to Instagram after the match and posted a series of pictures from the match with the caption, “Where dreams are made of…. Thank you, NYC… Great win on the road @intermiami.”

After scoring 10 goals in eight games following his arrival in Miami, and leading his new club to glory with the Leagues Cup title and the final of the US Open Cup, Lionel Messi has finally arrived in the MLS. The 36-year-old started on the bench for Inter Miami, as coach Martino decided to hand the Argentine a well-deserved rest. With fans chanting “We want Messi!” across the stadium, Messi was given his grand entrance at the 60th-minute mark.

Messi added to a 37th-minute strike scored by midfielder Diego Gomez for Inter Miami. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner both set up and finished the goal in the 89th minute for the Herons. He played a pass to Benjamin Cremaschi, splitting across the field, before receiving it back for a simple finish into the net.

The post shared by Beckham was greeted well by famous Miami Heat Forward, Jimmy Butler. The NBA star gave a thumbs-up and liked Beckham’s post congratulating Inter Miami for the victory. Butler is an avid follower of Inter Miami and supports the Messi-led Miami outfit.

Inter Miami entered the game at the bottom of the table for the Eastern Conference. With a 15-point gap to erase to get a place in the playoffs, it was a must-needed win for Inter Miami CF. The goals from Gomez and Messi helped Miami cruise past the New York Red Bulls with a victory. The Herons climbed up to the second-last spot on the table, reducing their point gap to 12 points for the playoff position.

All eyes will be on the performances of Lionel Messi. With his scintillating form on the pitch for the Miami side, fans will be keeping their hopes high for the playoffs. Messi has had a total of 14 goal contributions for the club since his arrival and contributed significantly to the team’s success. His finesse on the pitch has helped Miami clinch their historic first title in the form of the Leagues Cup. Now, they are also eyeing another historic cup, The Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, for which Inter Miami has already qualified for the final.

Head coach Gerard Martino and fans will be hoping to see more of Messi’s class and brilliance if they want to prove their contention for the MLS playoffs spot. Inter Miami will host Nashville FC at DRV PNK Stadium, Miami on Wednesday, August 30.
