Shakira and Gerard Pique have been in the media’s eye time and time again due to their split and subsequent controversies that followed. However, this hasn’t stopped either of them from being successful in their respective fields.

While Shakira has released chart-topping songs, Gerard Pique announced his retirement from professional soccer in November, which marked the end of an illustrious career. But Pique hasn’t focused only on retirement, he has also managed to break boundaries and enter unexplored territory.

The first step in this direction came in December of last year when the ex-Barcelona star introduced the Kings League – an innovative and unconventional form of soccer. After the huge success of Kings League, he then launched a women’s equivalent of the league, aptly named the Queens League which started off hot.

On Saturday, the Queens League officially began its first season with Las Troncas FC facing off against Saiyans FC. The matches are streamed on the Twitch platform. Thanks to recent developments, the match saw over 200k live viewers on the site.
