Days before, X were flooded with reports of Inter-Miami’s participation in the Riyadh Cup 2024, which is conducted by the Saudi Government to promote sports and entertainment. The competition usually happens between October and March, and this made many assume that Ronaldo and Messi will come face-to-face before they retire. Finally, the news was officially confirmed by the Saudi adviser Turki AlAlShikh. Following this, however, the dreams of soccer enthusiasts crumbled when Inter-Miami denied their participation.

They wrote on X, “Earlier today, an announcement was issued stating that Inter Miami CF is scheduled to play in the Riyadh Season Cup. This is inaccurate. The release included statements attributed to team owner Jorge Mas. Mas has made no comments, publicly or privately, in relation to the preseason tour.” Following this, the disheartened fans confirmed that it was impossible to witness the legends lock horns again.

As per the recent reports, there is a real chance for Inter-Miami and Al-Nassr to face each other, as the matter is being discussed. The last time Messi and Ronaldo came face-to-face, the entire soccer world was brought to the edge of their seats.
