Who would have thought the COVID pandemic could change the fortunes of a lower-division Welsh club named Wrexham AFC? It was during that break Rob McElhenney decided to buy a soccer club. He got a partner in Ryan Reynolds through Instagram chats, and one Zoom meeting with Wrexham Supporters Trust got them ownership of the club.

Since the Hollywood takeover for $2.5 million on February 9, 2021, the club has seen a 300% rise in the valuation. The docuseries Welcome To Wrexham, sponsorship deals like TikTok and Expedia, and the rise in the fanbase have been the reasons behind the massive increase in valuation.

Now there’s another big news for the Red Dragons after getting a promotion. Odds favor them to make another promotion next season ahead of some famous League Two clubs.

Wrexham AFC favorites to achieve another promotion

Wrexham will play in League Two after 15 years of absence. Another promotion is on their mind, and their owners are ready to invest in the squad that can compete in the fourth division. It will be an uphill task, though. They will go into the season to finish in the top seven to have a shot at promotion to League One.

Now SkyBet has come with good news for the world’s third-oldest soccer club. As per their recent odds, Ryan Reynolds’ club is the favorite to get a promotion to League One, the third division of English soccer. They are ahead of their fiercest National League rivals, Notts County, who are second on the list.

League Two promotion came with a series of good news for the world’s third-oldest soccer club. The club got two new sponsors for them. Betty Buzz, a famous beverage company, will be the new training kit sponsor for the club. The company will also have its name on the sleeves of the jerseys of the women’s team. Reynolds’ wife, Blake Lively, owns the company and will replace Aviation Gin.

After signing a 25-year lease for Racecourse Ground, the owners intend to increase the stadium’s capacity. However, after announcing the transfer kit sponsors, Reynolds and McElhenney announced new sponsors, SToK Cold Brew Coffee, as new stadium sponsors.
