Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are currently having the time of their lives at Wrexham AFC. Since its takeover in 2020, the Welsh soccer club has been on an upward trend. The celebrity duo has now become a fan favorite in and around the local soccer community. The Deadpool star has always been vocal about his soccer club on social media. Also, he does not shy away from criticizing the team too when it is necessary.

However, Ryan Reynolds was full of praise after his team managed to bang in six goals against CPDM Y Felinheli.

Ryan Reynolds cannot believe the insane scoreline!

It was a performance of the ages from the Wrexham AFC women. Wrexham AFC were the favorites and stronger side while going into this game after their opposition lost out of their key players in the summer. Ryan Reynolds was full of praise after Wrexham AFC women managed to beat CPDM Y Felinheli 6-0.

The Deadpool star tweeted, “Lightfoot running a clinic out here. Wow”. Amber Lightfoot managed to score four goals herself out of the total six. Lightfoot entered the squad through the youth setup of the club. The young forward has proven to be a natural talent who gets better and better as the season goes by.

Co-owner, Rob McElhenney, also posted a tweet appreciating the youngster for her prolific performance. McElhenney tweeted, “Just the 4, Amber? Congrats! Another amazing win!”

The previous results between the two sides have had quite extreme scorelines. Last season, CPDM thrashed Wrexham 8-3. However, the Welsh soccer club came back strongly and won the home leg 6-2. These two oppositions also met earlier this season in the FAW Women’s Cup and Wrexham AFC managed to comprehensively win the fixture yet again with the final score of 5-1.

The Wrexham AFC fans have always been really close to their owners since the takeover. Ryan Reynolds has helped pick up the club from a severely low financial drop due to the pandemic. A few days ago, the Deadpool star also announced that every Wrexham AFC match could be watched globally.

The Deadpool star has adopted a very ‘hands-on’ approach to his already memorable tenure at Wrexham AFC. Ryan Reynolds has previously revealed in the past that his ultimate goal is to guide the Welsh soccer club to the Premier League. While that seems like a steep mountain to climb, the men’s team is currently in second place in the Vanarama National League.
