Thomas Muller was one of the sharpest thorns in Lionel Messi’s flesh. The midfielder and his team gave Lionel Messi some harsh moments in soccer. From winning the World Cup final to humiliating FC Barcelona 8-2 in the UEFA Champions League, Muller was a part of it all. But the German icon has now transformed his outlook towards the Argentinean captain. Muller showed appreciation for the Inter Miami captain almost a year after undermining their rivalry.

Messi’s performance in the US has flattered the Bayern Munich striker. But this time, it was not his gameplay but generosity that caught Muller’s eye. Muller tweeted his praise for Messi after watching a clip of him on X (previously Twitter) allowing a fan to take a selfie with the legend on the field a few months ago. Muller replied, writing, “Well done, @TeamMessi,” appreciating the entire crew for their act.

Initially, the kid was held by Lionel Messi’s bodyguard, who, after the player’s permission, allowed the child the opportunity. The clip from Inter Miami’s loss against FC Cincinnati also saw him signing the kid’s T-shirt after the pic, which was shared on X. The 7-time Ballon d’Or winner’s bodyguard is known to be stiff with intruders and already experienced the Messi-mania! Hence, Messi’s entire team was lauded by Muller for being light on the boy.

Meanwhile, the compliments from Thomas Muller are refreshingly surprising. The 34-year-old in last March felt Cristiano Ronaldo was a threat to him than Messi at a club level. Muller stated“Against Messi, things always go well at all levels in terms of results. At club level, Cristiano Ronaldo was our problem when he was at Real Madrid,” which came after PSG lost to Bayern in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League. The former PSG player could not score in both legs of the round, leaving PSG knocked out. However, the player’s performances at Miami caught his attention.

However, the Inter Miami captain has been laid with an enormous burden this year. The player is expected to take the club to its maiden title. Nevertheless, Messi’s magical effects on the field also seem to be relished by the fans, including the 2014 World Cup winner.
