As a result, Swift knows quite well Kelce’s teammate & NFL icon Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany, with them in attendance at Swift’s New Year party. Notably, the Mahomes couple has also links to the soccer world as they have ownership stakes in NWSL club Kansas City Current. Given Swift’s friendship with them, fans may wonder if she would attend a KC Current game. While Patrick and Brittany Mahomes seem hopeful, it seems less likely.

Mahomes was positive regarding Taylor Swift’s chances of attending a current game. He told ESPN SportsCenter, “We might get her here at some point, she’s a busy woman and Travis is a busy guy. So, maybe during the season or something like that, we’ll get her out to a Kansas City Current game.”

Regardless, with the singer busy with the ‘The Eras Tour’ until the end of the year, it seems Mahomes is not expecting her to show up any time soon. Furthermore, his wife Brittany added that she’ll ‘work’ on making the plan come true.
However, the barrier for Swift could be her friendship with USWNT star Alex Morgan, who is also the captain of San Diego Wave FC in the NWSL. And considering the lengths to which Morgan went to attend the Super Bowl, Swift might want to rethink her allegiance.
For Super Bowl 2024, the USWNT legend booked a premium luxury suite worth around $2.5 million! Now, Morgan has never claimed to be interested in NFL games in the past. Hence, her appearance at the biggest event in the country was most likely to cheer on Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce in the final.
Hence, could Swift show support for her good mate’s rival in the NWSL? Chances are slim, to say the least. But, there is also another factor. Taylor Swift already has an NWSL invitation in her bag. To which, she is seemingly yet to respond.

Morgan had previously invited Swift to a game of ‘real football’
Alex Morgan has seemingly taken note of the 14-time Grammy Award winner’s interest in sports, particularly NFL games. As such, in October 2023, the soccer star invited Taylor Swift to watch an NWSL match. Morgan had said, “There’s an open invitation, always. American football games are fun but real football is more fun, I think.” Hence, it is understandable as to which sport Morgan prefers.

Interestingly, Taylor Swift has yet to accept the invitation it seems. She has never been spotted at an NWSL match since. Hence, it makes sense that if the 34-year-old was to attend a soccer game, it would be in response to the invitation that she received months back.
