The footballing community was shell-shocked when PSG announced that they had signed Lionel Messi. Messi who had donned a FC Barcelona shirt for 17 years, was the face of the Spanish giants and undoubtedly the best player to ever play for the club.

But shockingly, many poor decisions by the management meant that the Blaugrana were unable to renew the Argentine maestro’s contract. While Barcelona lost their club captain, PSG added a generational superstar to an already loaded squad.

Lionel Messi the reason behind Mauro Icardi’s potential departure?

While Messi left his fabled home of Barcelona, he arrived to PSG around some known faces. Not only did he re-unite with former Barca teammates Neymar Jr. and Rafinha, Argentine pair Angel di Maria and Leandro Paredes also welcomed the 6-time Ballon D’or winner.

Messi‘s arrival only adds to the lethal attack that PSG possess, but his arrival might be bad news for some. According to the latest reports of Calcio Mercato, striker Mauro Icardi could be on his way out of PSG.

“I knew [Messi] at Barcelona years ago, I let people talk, these are things we cannot avoid,” Icardi added, “I do not believe in these stories. I was able to meet him, he is the best player in the world and I appreciate him enormously.”

Given that he is still getting minutes with the club and performing well, a move to Juve seems rather puzzling. Juventus on the other hand do not have a dearth of firepower themselves. With Allegri back, the likes of Paulo Dybala are set to feature heavily. Alvaro Morata is also back for another loan season at the ‘Old Lady.’
