De Bruyne and Virgil van Dijk both played crucial roles for their teams during the game. After the final whistle blew, both men kept their on-field rivalry aside and got engaged in a conversation.

After the game, the Belgian also talked about his off-the-field relationship with the Liverpool defender.

Kevin said, “I know Virgil… me and Virgil see each other a lot. Our children go to the same school and they like to play together, so it was just a friendly chat.”

De Bruyne opened the scoring for Manchester City and had a huge influence on the game.
