Chelsea recently faced Zenit in their Champions League opener and won by a goal in a tightly contested match. England star Reece James started for the London-based club. While his team won on the pitch, robbers broke into his house and took away valuables, including his Champions League winners’ medal.

Thankfully, there was no one present at his house during the act, so nobody was hurt. Apart from the Champions League medal, James’ Super Cup medal and the Euros 2020 finalists’ medal were also in the safe. After the incident, Reece James took to social media to post the footage of robbers entering the house and a statement regarding the incident.

“Honours that can never be taken away from me” – Reece James issues a statement after losing his CL winners’ medal in a robbery.

Reece James described how the robbers got access to his jewelry and medals. “On the evening of the 14th of September 2021 when I was playing for my club in the return of the Champions League, a group of cowardly robbers broke into my house. They managed to collectively lift a heavy safe containing some personal items of mine into their car.”

He then divulged what the medals meant for him and that he can never be discredited for them, even if the medals are not present physically as proof. “These medals were won representing Chelsea and England – honors that can never be taken away from me whether or not I have the physical medals to prove it.”

He then concluded the statement by appealing for support from his fans. He also provided an update that the police are close to catching the perps. “Nevertheless, I am appealing to all my Chelsea and England fans to help identify and turn in these low-life individuals who will never be able to rest easy as the evidence is mounting against them.”

“We are closing in on them. Luckily, no one was present during the break-in but I want to let all of you know I am safe and well.”
