CR7 is enjoying a fantastic start to his second stint at Manchester United. The Portuguese forward has scored four goals in his first three games for the club. However, in a surprising turn of events, Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother has hinted at a rather shocking move for the 36-year-old, in the near future.

According to Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, the forward is closer than ever to a return to his former club, Sporting Lisbon. In a recent interview, Dolores Aveiro expressed her desire to see her son at his boyhood club, one last time. She said, “Ronaldo has to come back here. If it were my choice, he would already be here. He likes to watch Sporting games. I’ve already told him, ‘Son before I die, I want to see you return to Sporting.’ He says, ‘Let’s see.’ But if it cannot be him, then Cristianinho.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s career at Sporting Lisbon

Ronaldo started his career with Andorinha and Nacional for their youth teams before finally moving to Sporting CP in 1997. He was just 12 at the time, and after spending only five years in the youth setup, he burst into the first team at 17.

Sporting gave him his professional debut in 2002, and he played 25 games for the Portuguese side. Notably, Manchester United soon spotted the young star and signed him for his potential in a big-money move, back in 2003.
