“There’s No Plan-B For Us”: USMNT Star Tyler Adams Focused On Qualifying For FIFA World Cup 2022

With the regular league season halted for the international break, USMNT star Tyler Adams opens up about the team’s expectations from the World Cup Qualifiers.

The RB Leipzig player usually operates from the midfield but can play as a fullback or winger as well. Although he’s only 22, Adams is one of the more experienced players in the USMNT squad and will be pivotal to their hopes of qualification for the World Cup in Qatar.

What plans do the Americans have for the World Cup?

The American team is ready to give it all to qualify for the World Cup next year. Speaking about his experience while training with his team, he said, “There’s no Plan B for us. There’s only been a Plan A and that’s obviously to qualify for the World Cup.

Elaborating more about the plan, the 22-year-old said, “When I think about the experiences we’ve had now, in the past two years, I would say as a group and how much we’ve developed, it’s ultimately for the moment right here. We’ve waited a long time for this and the expectations are high going into this week.

We’ve talked about this as a group how in the last cycle they didn’t win one game away from home. Going into this window right here right off the bat, we have two opportunities to win two games away. And that puts us obviously in a good position going into the next window. We’re looking for a nine-point week. Bottom line- if you don’t set the standard high then there’s going to be a lot of room for improvement. We want to set the standard and the bar high. We’re always looking to reach that goal.”
