The recent Liverpool vs Manchester United match may have ended in a goalless draw, but it certainly did not lack drama. Following the match, Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk took a dig at the Red Devils. This, however, hasn’t sat well with Manchester United legend Roy Keane.
Van Dijk’s jibe came after a frustrating draw for Liverpool, where he claimed that his team was the superior one and criticized United for not playing to win. Roy Keane, known for his no-nonsense attitude, called out the center-back’s ‘arrogance’.

Following Van Dijk’s comments, Roy Keane sharply criticized the Dutch defender during his appearance on Sky Sports. “A lot of arrogance coming out of him,” the 52-year-old said after the match. He further reminded the 32-year-old that “he is playing for a club that has one title in 30 odd years.”

Roy Keane then gave the Dutch defender a reality check by pointing out, “Man United are in a difficult place. Like Liverpool were in a difficult place for many years.” The former midfielder further added, “So maybe that bit of arrogance backfired on him today.”
