The lineal boxing heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury has generated some buzz with his announcement that he will be making his MMA debut soon. UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou has already put his name for a fight against Tyson Fury and now the heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic has offered to fight Tyson Fury if Fury ever comes into MMA. Not only that, but Stipe Miocic is also interested to go over to the boxing world and compete against the champion, Tyson Fury inside a boxing ring.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Stipe Miocic showed his interest in a fight with Fury and said:

“I saw Tyson Fury is coming into the mix now here, I like a new challenge. If he wants to step into the octagon, I would love it. I would step into the ring, I would love to box him. He is a great fighter and we would put on a good show.”

Miocic also said that he is more interested in fighting Fury in boxing  match than in the octagon.Interestingly Miocic said that the third fight with Cormier is less appealing to him than the fight with Tyson Fury. Miocic added:

“With ‘DC,’ I didn’t fluke knock him out. I beat him. I decisively beat him. That first fight, congrats to ‘DC’ but he caught me with a punch, first shot. But that night, no excuses, he beat me. But the second fight, I won. I didn’t get lucky I just worked him.”

The trilogy fight between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic does make sense. While Cormier won the first fight against Miocic, he lost the second one. Moreover, he was winning the fight against Miocic in the rematch until the 4th round. Hence a trilogy fight would be competitive for sure, however, fans would also love to see two heavyweight champions of two different sports going at each other either inside an octagon or inside a boxing ring.

Fury has already made his pro wrestling debut in WWE, and although the transition from a boxer to a mixed martial artist is a tough one, it seems Fury might do it sooner or later.
