SypherPK Gives His Views on the Debate Between Mechanical and Primal Weapons in Fortnite

The biggest feature of Chapter 2: Season 6 of Fortnite is the new craftable weapons. The new Primal and Mechanical weapons in the new biome bring an additional element of gunplay and gameplay to the game. While one provides more damage to the makeshift weapons, the other provides more accuracy.
While most players have an opinion on which class suits them better, there are certain guns that are better than the others. Ali “SypherPK” Hassan gave his views on the debate between mechanical and primal weapons and what to use.

SypherPK gives his personal preferences for the new weapon classes in Fortnite
Starting off the discussion, Ali gave his preference for the shotgun class in Fortnite. While Mechanical shotguns go up to Gold tier, the Primal shotguns have a Mythic weapon with the Mythical Drum Gun. But even with the mythical shotgun available in the mechanical tier, Ali considers the Primal shotguns to be better because of the amount of damage they deal.
“For my personal experience, Primal shotguns are extremely dangerous up close and they do have some range. Honestly, when you ADS, this thing can pack some punch from a distance.”

With the SMGs, the difference between Mechanical and Primal weapons is very close. These weapons are used in the short and medium distance ranges, so both classes serve different purposes. Depending on the playstyle, players can choose primal for the increased fire rate or the mechanical for less recoil.
“They are actually very, very close, in terms of performance. They are all going to have very similar mechanics, very similar accuracy and damage output.”
Ali also talked about the new Primal and Mechanical bows. He crowned the Shockwave as the strongest weapon of the class because of its high mobility. But the bow is not available in competitive as players cannot upgrade Mechanical bows in this mode. Hence, in competitive matches, it is always better to use a Primal bow.
The AR debate

The Assault Rifle is the most varied weapon class for Mechanical and Primal weapons. In early game scenarios with green and blue tiered weapons, SypherPK would also pick the Primal ARs over the normal weapons of this class.
“The Primal AR is very good in close range and has more DPS than the normal AR. It has a much higher damage output because it shoots faster than a normal AR.”
While moving into the higher tiers such as purple, Primal ARs don’t have first shot accuracy which restricts them from getting ADS. So, in long-range fights, it has a severe disadvantage. But during build battles, the high damage output definitely trumps the normal ARs for them to be used more often.

If players have a certain playstyle, then they can always choose other weapons. But most of these weapons, especially the Primal ARs, can become a meta weapon. So these weapons will be used regularly by most players and will easily defeat other weapons. Hence, it is always better to use a weapon that provides a better advantage.
