Kei Nishikori is considered one of Japan’s best-ever tennis stars. The 31-year-old reached a career-high of world number 4 in March 2015. The Japanese player is currently the world number 41 in the ATP ranking.
While he hasn’t won a Grand Slam yet, the closest he got was at the 2014 US Open, where he reached the final. Sadly, he lost to Marin Cilic and had to settle for the runners-up spot.
In 2020, he was the sixth highest-paid tennis player in the world while he is currently on the 40th spot on the Forbes list of highest-paid athletes.
His total earnings aggregate to $32.1 million, which includes his career prize-money of $24,020,635 from both singles and doubles tennis.
Nishikori has an estimated net worth of $24 million.
As mentioned before, he reached the final of the 2014 US Open. Other than that, he has gotten as far as the quarterfinals at the Australian Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon.
In fact, he has reached the quarterfinals on nine occasions across those three Grand Slams but has not managed to reach the semi-finals.
Nishikori won the Bronze medal at the Rio Olympics, and it happens to be the biggest victory of his career. The medal was also Japan’s first Olympic tennis medal in 96 years.
He has also reached the semi-finals twice at the season-ending ATP Finals.
