Rishabh Pant Biography

The 21-year old from Uttarakhand is one of the upcoming players of the Indian Gen X. In 2018, he was actually named ICC Emerging Player of the Year.

He is actually one of the may youngsters who's career took off because of IPL. His first tryst with the Indian team was in 2017 for the T20 team. Pant's debut in the Test and ODI team was in August and October 2018 respectively.

On 11 September 2018, he recorded a maiden Test century, against England. In the process, he became the second-youngest wicket-keeper and the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a Test century in England.

In December 2018, during the Australia Test, he registered 11 catches, the most by an Indian wicket-keeper in a Test. In January 2019, Pant also became the first Indian wicket-keeper to smash a century in a Test match against Australia.

IPL Career

In 2016, he made his IPL debut with the Delhi Daredevils. Rishabh Pant's IPL auction price was 1.9 crores. He even smashed his first half century in 25 balls during IPL 2016. A year later, he reached a high score of 97 runs. Incidentally, both scores were against the Gujarat Lions.

In May 2018, Pant reached even greater heights with a 128 not out from 63 balls. The opponents on this occasion were the Sunrisers Hyderabad. As it turned out, it was the second highest individual score by an Indian cricketer in a Twenty20 match.

Expectations for IPL 2019

Rishabh Pant has been going from strength to strength every year in the IPL. He is now entering his 4th season in IPL 2019 with Delhi, this time christened, Delhi Capitals.

Rishabh Pant's batting record is quite impeccable, if his previous seasons are anything to go by. Considering that he is only 21 years old, Rishabh Pant's IPL career can only improve from there.
