In the following year, Roberto Bautista Agut reached his first ATP final in Chennai, losing only to Janko Tipsarevic. That year, his ranking also improved to 58.
In 2014, however, Roberto Bautista Agut delivered one of his strongest seasons to date. At the French Open, he reached as far as the third round, even beating Benoit Paire, but lost to Tomas Berdych.

In 2018, though, he snatched victory in the Qatar Open, the Dubai Tennis Championships, and for the second time, the Auckland Open.
His best performance at a Major came at the Wimbledon Championships 2019, reaching the semifinals. In the same year, he also made the Australian Open quarter-finals.
