Eldrick Tont Woods, popularly known as Tiger Woods, is an American professional golfer. Born in Cypress, California, he got the nickname Tiger in honor of his father's friend, who also had the same nickname.
Being the son of an avid golfer, Woods picked up the sport early. He was a child prodigy who made it to Golf Digest at the age of five. He followed it up with multiple junior tournament wins and entered Stanford University in 1994.

With 82 PGA Tour wins, Woods is tied for the most wins with Sam Snead. 15 of them are Majors, making him only second to Nicklaus (18) in all-time wins Major wins.
He is one of five players (with Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Gene Sarazen, and Jack Nicklaus) to win all four major championships in his career while being the youngest to achieve this feat. Tiger Woods' golf career will go down in history as one to take inspiration from, and he is the only player to have all four in a row (2000-2001).
Woods also owns the record for the lowest career scoring average in PGA Tour history.
