“I Can’t Hit a Proper Serve. F*ck Me!”- Alexander Zverev Bursts Out During Loss To Stefanos Tsitsipas

The two NextGen icons Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev boarded to open their 2020 match-win accounts at ATP Cup. The Greek lad defeated Sascha 6-1, 6-4 at the ATP Cup 2020. In the second set, World Number seven Zverev lost a service game after double-faulting. During the changeover, he yelled ‘f*ck me!’ out of frustration.  Zverev double-faulted on many important points and that had a catastrophic outcome on the result.

Set One

A swift first set was played by the Greek lad Stefanos Tsitsipas. He did not let Alexander Zverev recover from his break-down trail. The quality of tennis was deteriorating from the German’s end. However, he produced some strokes that were unplayable, but they were not enough to balance the opening set. 

A terrible game of tennis was displayed by Sascha on his serve. He committed three double faults and gave Stefanos a double break lead at 5-1 which includes a double fault on the break point. And by then, Zverev had lost all his challenges. 

Following that, the Greek lad closed out the set with an ace and by serving out to love.

Set Two

Zverev had a chance to lead by a break in the second set. Tsitsipas missed a shot by a few millimeters and that gave rise to a break point. Followed by a wide forehand from the Greek, Sascha led by 2-1.

However, the poor game of tennis continued on Sascha’s serve. He once again double-faulted and Tsitsipas retrieved his service game loss. After the troublesome service game, Zverev received instructions from Germany’s captain Boris Becker. In the midst of that, he yelled ‘f*ck me!’ after losing his serve once again on a double fault.

“I don’t understand it. I just can’t hit a proper serve. I just can’t. Tell me, what should I do? My groundstrokes from the baseline are fine, everything else works solidly. But I just can’t hit a proper serve! F*ck me,” frustrated Zverev uttered.

Tsitsipas won four consecutive games in the set and was leading by 4-2. Followed by a double fault by Sascha in the next game, he held his serve at 4-3. With a smooth game of tennis, Tsitsipas closed out the match 6-1, 6-4.
