Alexander Zverev False Claims Daniil Medvedev’s Potential Coronavirus Infection

Alexander Zverev, the World Number seven, took on South Africa’s Kevin Anderson in the first round of the US Open 2020. The next-gen sensation played a tight match against the Johannesburg’s skyscraper and pulled off a 7-6, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 victory.

Right after his win, Sascha confirmed that the defending finalist at US Open, Daniil Medvedev, is one of the players who’s been put in isolation. In addition, he revealed that Daniil had been in contact with Benoit Paire, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

However, these claims are nothing but false rumors, and the Russian ace was not in contact with Paire. The fifth seed at the US Open, Zverev, has made some false claims regarding Medvedev’s potential isolation and his exposure to the virus.

The Russian’s coach, Gilles Cervara, revealed that the 24-year-old has “not at all” been affected by the Paire’s test, thereby dismissing Zverev’s claims.

Alexander Zverev not happy with US Open 2020

Certainly, after his victory, Sascha was really happy with the tournament. Benoit Paire was tested on Sunday and consequently withdrew from the tournament. He was the first tennis player to test positive inside the US Open bubble and the tournament did not reveal the news and formally inform the players.

They figured it out via social media, and that infuriated Alexander Zverev. “Only thing USTA handled not well is that they did not inform us about Paire,” he said.

In fact, Kristina Mladenovic was in contact with Paire, due to which her movements have been restricted. She’s not allowed to use the health club and indulge in other public activities.

Kiki is only allowed to play her matches. She was practicing with Paire and also spent time playing cards with him and runs the risk of being a dormant carrier for the fatal virus.
