A few weeks ago, on Nick Kyrgios’ birthday, Greek gun Stefanos Tsitsipas shared the Aussie’s phone number on social media. The number went viral, and Kyrgios received text messages and phone calls from all over the world. His birthday became a little annoying one with his phone buzzing all the time.
During their Instagram LIVE session on Wednesday, Tsitsipas revealed the number was shared after Kyrgios permitted him to do so.
Kyrgios wanted to know whether he could share World Number six Tsitsipas’ phone number. The Greek lad did not have any objections regarding that, and he gave him a green light to spread his number.
Nick: “My phone is still recovering…”
Stefanos: “Well…Actually, I had no idea it would end up like this.”
Nick: “Really, you had no idea?”
Stefanos: “It was more than what I thought. Let everyone know, you approved. It was not that I did it without your approval.
Nick: “Do I have your approval to put your phone number?”
Stefanos: “Yeah, do it. I can change it, people will know my phone number, then I can change it.”
Nick: “Alright, fair enough …”
Stefanos: “I get a lot of spam messages, and I can minimize it that way. So please do it.”
The two good friends on the ATP Tour Nick Kyrgios and Stefanos Tsitsipas played doubles tennis at Citi Open and Cincinnati Masters in 2019.
They locked horns for the first time in Washington, wherein they played a hilarious match for almost three hours. After defeating Stefanos, Nick went to claim the ATP 500 title in Washington, USA.
At the beginning of 2020, they met each other at the ATP Cup. After dropping a set against Kyrgios, a frustrated Tsitsipas accidentally hit his father with his racquet who was present in the stands. Throughout the match, there were no breaks of serve, and Kygrios pulled it off in three tie-breaker sets.
