Serena Williams and Her Wimbledon Wins With The ‘Big Four’

Every tennis professional dreams about dancing on the ‘Champions Ball’ of Wimbledon someday. It’s a rejoicing moment for the winners and with their beautiful trophies in their hands, the gentleman and lady champion dance on the elite stage of SW19. On the women’s track, Serena Williams had the privilege to dance seven times on Wimbledon’s dance floor. 

Out of the seven times, she has danced six times with the ‘Big Four’ of tennis. Interestingly, Serena is the only active female tennis player to win her Wimbledon titles alongside every contestant of the ‘Big Four’ of tennis.

Roger Federer and Serena Williams

To begin with, the ‘King of Grass’ Roger Federer made this Grand Slam breakthrough at Wimbledon 2003. The Basel boy with a ponytail Federer became a major champion alongside Serena, who was rejoicing her sixth Grand Slam title win.

The GOATs did not stop there. Roger and Serena again won their Wimbledon crowns together in 2009 and 2012. They reached the finals in 2015. While Williams pulled off her victory, Federer couldn’t.

They were once again the finalists in 2019 but both of them were defeated in the finals.

Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams

The Spaniard Rafael Nadal became the first man since 1980 to pull off a ‘Channel Slam’ (winning French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back) at Wimbledon 2008 and he did it again in 2010.

Again in 2010, the American ace Williams shared the champion’s Dias with Nadal. Both of them had straight-sets final victories.

Interestingly, the ‘Fedal’ have won their Wimbledon titles with the Williams sisters. In 2005 and 2007, Federer won with Venus. 

Nadal’s epic Wimbledon 2008 victory over was the five-time defending champion, Federer. 

Novak Djokovic and Williams

In 2015, the Serbian machine Novak Djokovic defeated Federer for the second straight time at Wimbledon finals. That was the only year where Serena could win a Wimbledon with Novak out of the five times he has won. It was Novak’s third Wimbledon title and the sixth one for Serena.

That year at Wimbledon, Serena pulled off her second ‘Channel Slam’ and the first one was in the year 2002.

Andy Murray and Williams

The Brit and the crowd’s favorite Andy Murray dispatched the big-serving Milos Raonic in straight sets and clinched his second Wimbledon glory in 2016. On the women’s court, Serena also held a straight-sets win over Angelique Kerber and won her seventh Wimbledon title.

Also, during the 2012 London Olympics, Serena and Andy won their Gold medals in the singles track together. And the Olympic’s tennis events were taking place in the SW19 district of London.

To summarise, the GOAT tennis player Serena Williams is the only female tennis professional to win Grand Slams with all four legendary players. Besides the 23-time Grand Slam champion Williams, Maria Sharapova and Kim Clijsters have won there Slams with the ‘Big Three’ of tennis.
