Pokémon Go has swept the gaming market and is currently the most trending thing.
With people going on continuous hunts to catch them all, it has taken the grown ups back to their nostalgic childhood. Not only the common folks, the celebrities and athletes too have shared their experience on the social media related to the game.

So, we decided to merge the two very contrasting worlds of Tennis and Pokémon. Take a look at the striking resemblances between some of them.

Gyarados is known for its fierce temper and Nick Kyrgios is pretty much known for the same- his tennis skills have taken a back seat right now. It is also notoriously difficult to tame even after it is captured by the trainer, usually requiring an exceptional amount of hardwork in taming it until it can obey its trainer. So no surprise that Kyrgios has no head coach. Also, when the latter tweeted about catching this gigantic monster in Pokémon Go, it was pretty clear the Australian was the best fit for this intimidating creature.

Well, this one, purely on the basis of the looks. Tangela’s thick blue vines reminds of Brown’s unique hairstyle. The vines are known to constantly jiggle and sway! Competition for Brown? Only if it’d be real.

A Pokémon that runs in fields and mountains all day, much like the Spaniard who can last long, gruelling matches and will still chase down anything and everything that comes his way. It has brilliant stamina, that may give David Ferrer a run for his money.

There’s just one player who can take the place of the Ninja type Pokémon Greninja and that is Aga Radwanska. Famously known as the ‘Magician’ and ‘Ninja’ on tour, Aga moves with the speed and grace of a ninja, using swift movements to confuse her enemies. Yes, we just used Greninja’s trait to describe the Polish beauty.

Standing at 10 inches above 6, Ivo Karlovic is the perfect pick for the 8.8 metre giant, Onix. A very aggressive Pokémon that attacks human and it probably would’ve served plenty of aces just like Karlovic, had it been on the tennis field. Does the face resemble too? Not so sure.

Machamp can move a mountain using just one hand! That’s the brutal strength this creature possesses. Need we say more? When it comes to raw power, Serena Williams leads the charts.
The muscular arms of the American and the strength she  generates behind her shots make her ideal to play Machamp.

Arguably the most gorgeous tennis player of this era, Sharapova reminds of the utterly beautiful Pokémon, Ninetales. Covered with a thick, luxurious golden-white fur, Ninetales has mystical power in its tail. Now we know how Maria keeps her audience enchanted when she’s on court. Oh not to forget, the long, slender legs both of them are gifted with!

The most agonizing of moments children grew up watching was Charizard leaving Ash, as painful as seeing your favourite player missing out on tournaments due to injuries. And Rafa’s career too has been a bitter one lately, with injuries halting his path to become the greatest ever. Not to forget the fact that if you had to pick someone apart from the yellow mouse, it’d be the hot, fuming and intimidating Charizard. It’s ability to dominate opponents is almost similar to the way Rafa treats anyone across the net, well atleast on clay.

With the biggest fan base in the world, there was hardly any doubt about the fact that Roger Federer will be Pikachu. Also the fact that winning the fans’ favourite award a record number of times and loved across all generations of tennis followers, makes Federer the most iconic tennis player and who better than him to represent the most iconic virtual creature. Agile and quick on his feet, electric fast reflexes at the net and with a variety of attacks at his disposal, it’s the Swiss maestro who is perfect to play the role of the most famous and loved Pokémon.

One of the rarest and most complete Pokémons out there, Dragonite can travel faster than the speed of sound, something that probably resembles Novak’s lightening quick ability to reach out for balls on the tennis court. Novak Djokovic is ruling the tennis world like a dragon and is a master of all courts. Also, this Pokémon is also known for its ultimate inner focus, which further strengthens this comparison.  Remember when Ash needed both Charizard and Pikachu to beat Dragonite? Yeah, its that good!
