VIDEO: Fans Spot Tom Daley Performing an Unusual Activity at a Diving Final in the Tokyo Olympics

Earlier today, fans witnessed the women’s 3m springboard diving final at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. With 10 countries competing in the final, the competition produced immense entertainment for fans across the globe.

However, British diver Tom Daley drew a little attention from the competition towards him. While watching the final in the arena, he engaged in an unfamiliar habit which caught the eye of many a fan.

Daley made his Olympic debut in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Despite his young age of 14, the Briton became the youngest participant across all nations to take part in a final in Beijing.

Four years later, he won his first Olympic medal in the 2012 London Olympics. He took a bronze medal in the men’s 10m individual platform event.

Despite making three Olympic appearances, a gold medal eluded his illustrious career. However, that changed in Tokyo this past week when he won the men’s synchronized 10m platform event with his partner, Matty Lee.

While the 27-year-old will take part in the individual event on August 6th, he took some time to watch the women’s 3m springboard final today. During the final, Daley found the time to do some knitting which fans spotted and shared on social media.

Fans took to Twitter to react to the 4-time Olympian’s hilarious activity. While some of them laughed it off, others described it as one of the hilarious moments of the Games so far.

China clinched gold in the event

Chinese diver Tingmao Shi secured gold in this event with a total score of 383.50. The 29-year-old dominated from start to finish as she attempted five dives no lower than 3.0 on difficulty. Her compatriot Han Wang finished second with a total score of 348.75 to secure another silver medal for the Chinese contingent.

American diver Krysta Palmer clinched bronze, finishing five points behind Wang. With this impressive result, China have the most medals in diving in the Tokyo Olympics so far with four gold and two silver medals.
