The 2015 season in Tennis has been great one. While Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams barely missed out on a calendar slam and were obvious standouts, there were quite a few surprises in the form of Roberta Vinci, Flavia Pennetta and Richard Gasquet. We take a look at the top 10 achievers in Tennis in 2015, apart from Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams.

Stan Wawrinka

The swiss number 2 perhaps gave the biggest surprise of the year when he beat World Number 1 Novak Djokovic 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 at the Roland Garros Finals against all odds. Djokovic was expected to win his first French Open Title and achieve a career slam, but Wawrinka was just too good that day. Anything on Wawrinka’s backhand, was mostly a winner. Wawrinka, after a poor start to the season in 2015, was seeded 8th at the French Open, but like his victory in the Australian Open in 2014, he beat both the first and the second seeds.

Wawrinka also reached the semi-finals of Australian Open, US Open and the World Tour Finals in 2015. Apart from this, he won the Chennai Open for the third consecutive time, and achieved his ranking of Number 4, which was his ranking at the start of the year.
