India finally recorded their first win of the tour down under in what was a nail-biting and a thrilling encounter between the world’s two best sides in ODIs.
Having already lost the series and down 0-4 , India were desperately in search for a win in order to avoid a whitewash in the five match ODI series. After having won the toss for the fourth time in this series, MS Dhoni decided to field first.
Some fine death bowling by Jasprit Bumrah restricted Australia to 330 for 7. India started beautifully with Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma notching up another century stand.

However two quick wickets of Virat Kohli and Dhawan jolted their chase. Manish Pandey and Rohit Sharma strung a fine partnership afterwards.
India required 13 off the last over. MS Dhoni got out in the last over after hitting James Faulkner down the ground for a six but the ever calm and young Manish Pandey ensured India got over the line and chased down the target with 2 balls to spare. Pandey got his first ever century in ODIs in the process.
