Conor has shown interest in both of the fights. Though he values the UFC title more than the BMF title he finds Jorge Masvidal a more interesting fight than Kamaru Usman. During the press conference for UFC 246, Conor stated:

“I would say probably the more exciting bout would be myself vs Jorge for a stylistic standpoint. Usman kind of has a similar style of Khabib, you know the “Sniff the Jockstrap” style. So I am interested in both. We will see what happens”

Kamaru Usman is Willing to Give Conor the opportunity to fight for the welterweight title

Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman showed up for the media scrum ahead of UFC 246 and answers the call outs from Conor McGregor. Usman stated that he would not hesitate to fight Conor McGregor or anyone else if UFC wants him to fight. Besides that Usman believes that after everything Conor has done for the sport he should be allowed to try and make history by fighting for the third title if he wishes to.

“He(Conor) is special to the world of mixed martial art. I am no hater. I give credit where credit is due. That young man has definitely done a lot for the sport. So if he wants to step in and challenge, he is trying to make history to actually fight for a third title. I would be stupid to stand in the way of history and not give him that opportunity.” Usman explained.

Usman is likely to be present in the arena for UFC 246, but he is not expecting a call out from Conor if he wins. The champion made it clear that he is not running after the money fights.

“I am the champion. That’s it. Plain and simple. They will have to come to me. There is a reason now they talk about me. And that’s because I have the gold. Anybody can get it. I have never said NO.

When Dana White calls and says I want to take out this guy, I say when. And we get it done.” claimed Usman.

Well, if Conor does decide to go for the welterweight title, he will have the Nigerian Nightmare standing in front of him inside the octagon. And after witnessing what Usman did to Covington and Woodley, it’s safe to say that Conor will have to go through a war to get the welterweight title.

“If Conor wants it Conor can get it too. I don’t discriminate on ass whooping. Anybody can get it” said Usman.
