UFC President Dana White took to the mic after UFC 258 and did a deep dive into all things fighting. White chimed in on various topics including Kamaru Usman’s TKO win over Gilbert Burns and illegal online streamers. However, fans took note of his stance on a Tweet sent out by Jorge Masvidal’s manager Malki Kawa regarding his fighter.

Chiefly, ‘Gamebred’ is being targeted as one of the coaches on the returning season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ taking place in March. Masvidal was expected to coach the season of TUF against rival Colby Covington and eventually fight him. However, things change rapidly in MMA, and Masvidal became Kamaru Usman’s primary target after his win at UFC 258.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ called out Miami’s favorite son and the narrative shifted to Masvidal possibly coaching TUF against Usman. Masvidal’s manager took to social media and expressed an interest to have Jorge face ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ on TUF. Both men don’t particularly like each other and there’s a deep-seated resentment that will make for good reality television.

The long-time boss of the organization found it amusing that Malki Kawa would go about securing a massive TUF deal on Twitter. Moreover, White was noncommittal on whether Masvidal vs Usman would be the best path forward for TUF’s return. However, with other available options looking like slim pickings, Dana White and the UFC brass may be out of options.

Kamaru Usman has cleaned out the top contenders currently sitting at welterweight leaving him without a clear-cut opponent. He’ll have to begin rematching the top guys in the division and who better than Jorge Masvidal to start that process. ‘Gamebred’ is arguably the biggest money fight in the division and their first fight at UFC 251 did massive numbers.
