Phil Brooks a.k.a CM Punk made his much-anticipated return to pro-wrestling under the AEW banner. The ovation he received upon his return is beyond words. Fans were thrilled to see the straight edge superstar back to pro-wrestling after a hiatus of almost 7 years. UFC stars like Daniel Cormier, Justin Gaethje, and more also reacted to the iconic moment in the world of sports and entertainment.

Punk has been a true revolutionary since his WWE days. His rebel character and habit of cutting unscripted promos made fans become believers in him. However, he left the sport in 2014 after falling out with WWE management. Fans have wanted to see him back in action since. The wait is finally over, to say the least.

While Punk tried MMA and had 2 outings in the UFC in the meantime, it was clear that age was not on his side to compete in the level of competition that the UFC offers. Derek Brunson pointed out why Punk should never consider returning to MMA, as he is perhaps the biggest superstar in the world of pro-wrestling.
