Former UFC fighter Nate Diaz is back in the headlines again. This time, surprisingly, without having to make any statement or even a tweet about a possible next fight. Wondering how’d that happen? Well, it all goes down to the latest Logan Paul interview, which has generated quite a buzz amongst fans online.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani, the older Paul brother, who famously was part of an exhibition match against Floyd Mayweather, expressed his feelings about a possible match-up with Diaz. Accusing the Stockton native of ducking him from a boxing bout, Paul even claimed that there were talks earlier for a match between the two. Following the interview, it was one of Paul’s acquaintances who made a surprising claim on behalf of the MMA veteran, leaving fans wondering if a bout between the two would even take place in the future.

Logan Paul’s partner and friend, KSI, another major name in the influencer boxing scene, tweeted his opinion in one of the clips from the Paul and Helwani interview on BT Sport.

Claiming that Diaz would rather face the younger Paul, i.e. Jake Paul, he wrote, “I bet you he wants to fight Jake Paul instead lmao”

No doubt Jake Paul is the more active boxer and a bit more controversial name; which could be something Diaz might be more attracted to from a financial standpoint. While that may be the case, the WWE star’s claims during the interview that the former UFC fighter pulled out from a planned boxing bout do leave some unanswered questions for fans.

Logan Paul claims Diaz ducked him in tell-all interview

Paul’s interview did come as a bit of a shock for many fans. Although there were rumors of a Diaz match-up prior, very few must have expected that it was so close to a done deal.

After disclosing that it was indeed the 37-year-old who he was meant to face in a boxing bout, Paul revealed that Diaz ultimately pulled out last minute, much to his disappointment.

“Yeah I thought I had something locked in and like apparently he said he called and said the fight was off.” He disclosed.

Despite the fight having not taken place, the YouTuber still had hopes that it might eventually work out for both parties at some point. Considering the numbers that a fight like that could pull, Paul’s next statement showed his desire to fight the MMA veteran.

“As far as I know it’s not dead because we had to f****g offer more money. We got to like bait this guy into fighting me,” he claimed.

Ultimately, knowing Nate Diaz, fans understand that it might take a while for a bout of this measure to take place. Currently a free agent, maybe the pull of the lights and the crowds might just be too strong for the Stockton native to stay away from for a prolonged period.
