In a video posted by ‘djvlad’ on YouTube, Michael Franzese revealed what he thought about Mayweather’s decision to fight the grandson of John Gotti. He said, “Mayweather [and] Gotti, you know, [are] big names, let’s face it.” Franzese mentioned how both fighters are big names and if a fight between them can attract viewers, then there should be no questions as to why they can’t put on a show. Moreover, he also believes that there might be some controversial issues revolving around their fight. “I am sure there is going to be a lot of controversy over why is it happening… but hey, why not? You know, they’re showmen,” said the former mobster.

When asked if there is a possibility of Mayweather losing this fight, Franzese shut that down. He praised ‘Money’ for his fighting skills and techniques, stating that the former multiple-division world champion knows how to stay away from people. Franzese said, “Mayweather, how does he take a loss? He stays away from everybody. He’s got a great technique in the ring.”

A brawl ensued at Mayweather’s exhibition fight

Unlike ‘Money’s previous bouts, this one ended with a brawl involving members from both camps. Things went totally off the rails at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida. The incident started when Gotti didn’t stop spewing verbiage on the undefeated boxer. This prompted the referee to stop the fight as he seemed fed up with the 30-year-old’s verbal antics.

However, John Gotti III disregarded the referee’s decision and charged Floyd Mayweather trying to land a few blows, but things didn’t just end there. Members of both comps got in the ring and a mass brawl broke out. All hell broke loose as the match officials found it difficult to contain the situation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident. It could have ended in a disaster.
