Jon Jones is perhaps the greatest MMA fighter of all time. And, one of the reasons for this is that he gets hit less than most other fighters. This is good since getting hit more results in CTE which leads to cognitive decline.

But, thankfully, Jones is lucid and has a good sense of humor, as the whole affair with troll and employee of Betr- Jake Paul’s outlet, Derek has shown. The whole affair has led to a series of apologies, the first from Jones, after which Paul apologized to Jones.

Derek uploaded a video of him sparring, and quitting after getting hit with a body shot. Jon Jones left a smiling emoji as a comment below the video. Derek has a chequered history with other MMA fighters too. He ticked off Nate Diaz in a press conference for the Diaz vs. Paul fight, by asking to fight Nick, his elder brother. He also had a dust-up with Israel Adesanya, which led to a playful kick from the middleweight. And Jones’ mockery, apparently riled up Derek who made a video asking Jones to “keep my name out of your f****** mouth or we’re gonna have a problem.

The UFC heavyweight champion made a joking comment to that video and apologized to Derek and said he was a big fan. “Bro, that’s my apologies, I didn’t think you read the comments. Please forgive me. I don’t want no smoke. I’m actually a massive fan,” Jones wrote.

Jake Paul apologizes to Jon Jones

In a Story on his Instagram account, Derek’s boss Jake Paul apologized to Jon Jones after his employee’s latest video. After Jones’ apology, Derek made another video. He magnanimously accepted the American’s apology. But he followed it up with a warning. He warned ‘Bones’ against making fun of people otherwise there might be “consequences” for the heavyweight champion.

“Jon Jones, I appreciate the apology and obviously I’ll let this one slide. But let this be a lesson, you cannot talk s*** to someone and not expect consequences,” Derek said in the video.

To which Jones replied with “Man lesson learned, thanks a ton for the forgiveness”. The UFC fighter then requested Derek to follow him back on Instagram, which the media personality obliged, in another display of his generosity and benevolence. Paul apologized to Jones on social media for this, which Jones shared on his Insta Story.
