Nate Diaz will compete in his first fight since leaving the UFC in September 2022. However, this time, he will participate in his first-ever boxing fight against the YouTube sensation Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ has laid waste to a few UFC fighters who stood up to challenge him. As such, Paul’s warning is not all empty talk as the Stockton native(Diaz) gears up for the clash on August 5th.

Nate Diaz recently dropped the trailer for his fight against Jake Paul, and fans are pumped to see him in a squared circle. Many people believe that he might be the one UFC fighter who could defeat the YouTube star due to his prowess in striking skills and enormous gas tank. However, ‘The Problem Child’ believes otherwise.

Jake Paul plans to knock out Nate Diaz

The trailer of the fight shows Jake Paul talking about the highly anticipated fight between him and Nate Diaz. He believes that this fight might be one of the biggest bouts of the year. Paul said, “With two people who can’t lose, who don’t want to lose, then this is probably the biggest fight of the year.” Moreover, he took a jibe at Conor McGregor, Diaz’s former rival, pointing out that the Irishman could never finish the Stockton native on the two occasions they fought inside the Octagon.

McGregor fought Nate Diaz twice – at UFC 196 and at UFC 202. He lost the fight in the first fight but came back to win the second time. However, he could not register a finish, but Jake Paul had vowed to do that. He said, “Imma do what Conor McGregor couldn’t do, and I’m gonna knock this man out.” Even though Jake Paul seems confident about winning the fight, it may not be an easy task for him. Nate Diaz is known for his boxing abilities.

The Stockton native started his boxing training when he was 15

Nate Diaz mentioned about the reason behind his decision to compete in a boxing match in the trailer. He claims to have been training in boxing gyms since he was a teenager. Diaz said, “I have been going to boxing gyms since I was 15 years old. I have always wanted to box.” Moreover, his training routine for MMA fights is similar to how boxers prepare for boxing matches. He added, “Every fight I fight in MMA, I was training just like any boxer trained for a boxing match. I don’t think I’ve ever got my a** whipped in a boxing gym.”

The reason Diaz chose to fight Jake Paul is that he wanted to fight the biggest names currently in the sport. He declared his strategy was always to fight the most renowned fighters, and Jake Paul demonstrated his strength and became a top draw in boxing.
