Conor McGregor may carry a very outlandish personality for most of the time. But he never fails to encourage other fighters whenever he has the opportunity. He recently shared a tweet praising 2-time Olympic winner and undefeated boxer Claressa Shields as she gears up to face Maricela Cornejo on June 3 at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
Claressa Shields is arguably one of the best female boxers today. She won the Olympic gold medal twice, once in 2012 and once in 2016. Additionally, she is also a two-time world champion in amateur boxing. Conor McGregor seems to be backing her to win as he shared a message on Twitter.

While the 2-time Olympic medalist tweeted expressing how much fun she has had during the promotional events for her upcoming fight, McGregor replied with a message in support of Claressa Shields. He believes that she’ll wrap up the fight with a knockout win over Maricela Cornejo. The Irishman tweeted, “100%! I see a BIG KO WIN in this one for you Claressa. Watching real close.”

A fan commented on Claressa Shields’s post claiming that only Conor McGregor can make good money from fights. However, ‘Notorious’ was quick to clap back at the fan and mentioned how much the Olympic winner had to grind to get to where she is today. He said, “Here i am with the dough, but no, this Woman is on the ball! The full show, and all across the board, and built and done all on her own.” Conor McGregor claimed that he knew that Shields would become this big in boxing a few years ago. He added, “The stars are aligning it is as clear as day! I seen this from years coming.”

Claressa Shields reacted to the ‘Notorious’s tweet while Shaquille O’Neal hyped up her next fight
The undefeated boxer seemed happy after receiving such praise from the former UFC double champion. She shared his message in a story on Instagram and thanked him for the support. She wrote, “Real recognize real [Conor McGregor]! Thanks a lot man!!!!”
However, Conor McGregor wasn’t the only one who believe that Claressa Shields is a game-changer.

NBA legend and 4-time champion Shaquille O’Neal also shared Claressa Shields’s post in his Instagram story, showing his support for the undefeated boxer while also hyping up his followers for her upcoming fight. Furthermore, The 13-0 boxer has garnered a lot of support from superstar athletes belonging to different sporting backgrounds.

Shields will hope to continue her winning ways against Maricela Cornejo to make it a 14-fight undefeated streak. She had mentioned earlier in an interview that she wishes to become the ‘female Floyd Mayweather‘ and even claimed to be one of the best boxers ever.
