Brazilian ace Gilbert Burns displayed an amazing performance at UFC 287. He defeated Jorge Masvidal via a unanimous decision to inch toward his quest for the welterweight title. Moreover, during the post-fight press conference, ‘Durinho’ warned the UFC to leave the promotion if he doesn’t get a title shot next.

The 5th-ranked welterweight fighter mentioned in the press conference that he only wants to fight for the title. Burns started by mentioning that the Colby Covington vs Leon Edwards fight is going to take place anyhow. But he also has his sights on the title. ‘Durinho’ said, “I wanna get back out.”

He added, “I am going to. I’m not asking. I am demanding that I’m going to because whenever they ask, anytime the UFC gives me a call, asking for opponents, I say yes. And now, I’m demanding.” Gilbert Burns also mentioned that he wants to be the backup for the Covington vs Edwards fight and believes he’s next in line for the championship bragging rights. He said, “I am going to do my training camp for five rounds, go to London, I’ll be the backup and I’m next in line to fight for the title, otherwise let me go, my guy.”
