Aleksei Oleinik Recalls UFC When Real Fighters Fought Without Trash Talking

Aleksei Oleinik is an absolute legend in the MMA world. The Russian fighter has been a pro fighter since 1996 and is still going strong.

‘The Boa Constrictor’ has a phenomenal MMA record of 59-15 and holds the record for most Ezekiel choke wins in MMA history. And has won an astounding 46 of his wins via submission.

Amazingly it seems like the fighter is not finished just yet as he is all set to compete against Sergey Spivak at UFC Vegas 29.

Having been a part of professional MMA for almost 25 years, Oleinik has a unique look at the sport. During a recent interview, the fighter was talking about how he has seen MMA change over the years.

“Yeah, of course. I am a long time in this world and I see, I look, I watch this sport change every year. When we start fighting this, not any trash talk, no any haters, no any social media.

“When we start fighting this, Royce Gracie, Dan Severn, and Oleg Taktarov, terribly strong and brutal guys. They don’t speak, they only crush everybody.

“Now we have a super many everything. This is social media, this is video, picture, many, many trash talk, many big army fans, everything.”

Aleksei Oleinik believes he can change himself

To stay not just relevant but at the top of such a competitive sport as MMA requires a lot of effort. Oleinik has done that for the past 25 years and still does it to this day.

During the interview, the fighter was talking about the same and what he thinks of the changes that have happened in MMA over the years.

“Something like it. Something, don’t like it, because when I was young I start and I take rules. My times, when real men, brutal men, don’t need a talk a lot.

“I need to fight a beautiful. I need to show brutal fight. I don’t need to talk talk talk. Maybe this is not bad. I can’t change time, but I can change myself.”

The legendary fighter last competed in the UFC against Chris Daukaus at UFC Vegas 19 and lost that fight. However, the fighter still wants to compete and get better and will be back in action against Spivak.

Oleinik is one of the best fighters to be a part of MMA and fans can’t wait to see the veteran back in action.
