Beloved comedian Bill Burr has recently come under the spotlight for a gesture his wife made towards Donald Trump at UFC 295: Jiri Prochazka vs Alex Pereira. Burr’s wife, Nia Renee Hill, was spotted ‘flipping off’ the former US president. Hill was sitting beside the comedian, flipping Trump off as he greeted the audience. It looked harmless, but the public thought otherwise.

Nia Renee Hill, after the inappropriate gesture, was blasted by fans over social media. Most fans called Hill out because they felt that what she had done was disrespectful to the former president. And now, Bill Burr has come up and addressed the issue on The Rich Eisen Show.

In a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, the host sarcastically asked Burr how his wife’s hands were doing. Burr, being the comic he is, made a joke about it and diffused the situation. The comedian stated, “I love my wife, I know where you stand with her.

Burr went on to comment on the issue, stating, “The guy walked into the arena. Everybody cheered, she gave him the finger, nobody got arrested.” He further proceeded to pay homage to America being a free country, saying, “That’s why this country’s great. Everybody expressed themselves. Can we all be adults?”

“I don’t know about you but I came there to go to the fights. I didn’t know I was going to the republican national convention.” he added.

Burr is amazing when it comes to defusing a situation. Which is probably why he’s successful as a comic. But it did not satisfy most of the public this time around. The comic has usually been neutral when it comes to politics, as he has been known to make fun of either side. However, some believe that he does have a selective bias.

Some people aren’t happy with how the comedian defended his wife on ‘The Rich Eisen Show. But it seems unlikely that the public’s opinion will affect Bill Burr in any sort of way. The comedian is well known for his infamous rant in Philadelphia, where he roasted an entire audience as they heckled other comedians before him.
