Ciryl Gane is coming off a win over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in his first five rounds main event. After the fight, Derrick Lewis challenged and expressed his fighting desire to face Gane in a fight. ‘Bon Gamin’ has already accepted the offer, but the fight hasn’t been booked yet.

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Gane was asked about the lessons that he took from his last fight. Furthermore, he was asked about how he would approach this fight? Gane replied, “If the fight is gonna be okay for the contract. I think I would like to finish the fight. Before here, of course, because I know it’s good to finish. To win the fight, it’s better to finish the fight before the end. So if I can, I’m gonna do it”.

The fans criticized ‘Bon Gamin’ in his last fight, as the bout was not very exciting. Gane too believes that he wasn’t exhausted and wanted to pressure his opponent. However, he got the win without having issues with his cardio. Moreover, his opponent didn’t engage a lot with him and this will not be an issue against ‘The Black Beast’ who will look for the knockout and will pounce on the minutest opening.

Hence, this is a great opportunity for Ciryl Gane to give the fans an exciting bout.

Just one mistake and Derrick Lewis will knock you out

Derrick Lewis is a counter striker who likes putting people to sleep with his one-punch knockout power. Lewis is dangerous till the very last second, as he is someone who can turn the tables very quickly. He likes to catch his opponents unawares.

He did something similar in his fight with Alexander Volkov. The Russian controlled the bout for 3 rounds, but got stopped in the closing seconds of the last round.

Ciryl Gane also pointed out the mistake that Curtis Blaydes made and said, “Just one mistake to go front of Derrick Lewis, he did just one uppercut and he finished the game. And the people and for me, the people say okay, let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go, but I don’t want to do the same game like Curtis Blaydes”.

‘Bon Gamin’ has shown that he is a student of the game and is eager to learn in the bigger fights against elite opponents. And given the rankings, this clash makes sense.
